The Grievance Administrator and his staff

The Grievance Administrator and Deputy Grievance Administrator are appointed to their positions by the Michigan Supreme Court. Robert L. Agacinski has served as Grievance Administrator since 2000, and Robert E. Edick has served as Deputy Grievance Administrator since 1995.

The Grievance Administrator and Deputy Grievance Administrator currently employ a legal staff of 13 attorneys and a support staff of 15, including 3 investigators. The Grievance Administrator and the Deputy Grievance Administrator also serve as the conduit between the Commission and the legal staff, the Bar, the judiciary, and the public.

The Grievance Administrator’s legal staff also handles the prosecution of those matters which the Commission authorizes for trial. The Grievance Administrator and Deputy Grievance Administrator oversee the preparation and presentation of cases before the Hearing Panels appointed by the Attorney Discipline Board. These attorneys also prepare legal briefs and conduct argument in matters on appeal to the Attorney Discipline Board and the Michigan Supreme Court.
